The work I present will be based on the research I did for the book, Kill the Messenger: The Media's Role in the Fate of the World. Discussion will focus on how media coverage affects vital issues all over the world, from Rwanda to Bosnia, Northern Ireland to Chile and Mexico, including complex issues such as climate change. How can media coverage improve communities? What are the different frames that can be used? How do subtle (or not so subtle) changes in media coverage impact political outcomes?
